MADAME MOON

Image

Upon her silver back she lies

In shower-bursts of stars,

Flung across the pitch black skies

Like jewel-encrusted scars.

Steady on her lunar trail

Above the earth she clings,

Tethered like a fingernail

Held by midnight strings.
